I've gone out of my mind trying to figure out the lyrics to Ohio from CSN&Y. Their 4 pack CD does not contain any liner notes giving lyrics--please email me! thanks. Mary

Please use a more specific thread title
e.g. "LyrReq: Ohio" (without the quotes!)

Hope I don't get sued:

OHIO
Written by Neil Young
As recorded by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young as a single in 1970, and on "So Far" (1974)

Tin soldiers and Nixon comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin'.
Four dead in Ohio.
Gotta get down to it; soldiers are cutting us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it; soldiers are cutting us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin':
Four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio,.... [FADE]

That's it.
I'm a Viet Vet and I haven't forgiven the Gvt. for Kent St. (or Jackson St. or Southern U.). How about U?

Andreas, you know about the quotation-mark problem with thread titles. Mary probably wrote: Anyone have the lyrics to "Ohio"
and the computer didn't print out what's between the quotation marks.

dycphre,

The song you seek is in the Digitrad Database (fondly known as the DT), It is called ARKANSAS TRAVELER. I found it by typing those words (I knew the title) into the search block in the upper right corner of this page. You could have gotten it by picking a relative clear and unique line from the words you have and put them in brackets [ ].

Welcome to the Mudcat! Enjoy the song!!!

I'm looking for the lyrics to a song sung by Marty Robbins. I think it was called the Ballad of the Alamo. It was written about a Mexican soilder, named Jimmy Martinez who died at the Alamo. Please added to list of folk songs.

Hi, Sailor. THE BALLAD OF THE ALAMO (click here) is in our database, too. I found it by putting Alamo Robbins in the search box in the upper-right corner of this page.
We ask people to search the database before they request a song in the forum. We have some 7,000 folk songs in the database, so it's one of the best places to look. If the song isn't there, start a new thread, and make sure the title of the song you want is in the thread title. This thread has been used for three different songs, and that gets very confusing.

Please, no new posts in this thread. Thanks.

I thought the same thing - especially when "My Bonnie" is in the DT. I was just gonna let it be since I'm probably already in trouble with the folk police for posting the lyrics to "Longer". ;-)

Is a "good buy love" like a properly valued prostitute?

Dontya just love it Joe! A lot of people don't even read the last message in a thread they open evidently. Even when you speak nicely. (refers to message of 6 April)
