"Save Darfur Now: Voices to Stop Genocide" rally and musical performances in New York City this Sunday.

And the weather looks great!

Join former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Actress Mira Sorvino, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), music stars Big & Rich, O.A.R., Lupe Fiasco and Suzanne Vega and many others calling for a United Nations peacekeeping force in Darfur.

Here are all the details:

When: September 17, 2006, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Central Park, East Meadow

Directions: Enter Central Park on foot from 5th Avenue at 90th Street.
Follow East Drive uptown (north) to East Meadow.

Subway: Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 86th Street.

Bus: Take the M1, M2, M3 or M4 southbound on 5th Ave. or northbound on Madison Avenue or take the M106 or M96 across Central Park.

I was just reading recently that Canadian Romeo Dallaire , who we've discussed in another Cat thread, is trying to mobilize Canadians - particularly young people - to take action now, before it turns into another Rwanda.
