I can only associate him with being a warm ,friendly, music and life-loving Folkie. He was well-liked for those qualities in my neck of the woods in N.E. England

Alex was a great entertainer , he set Causleys poetry to music, he was a good piano player, he did a lot to promote music in east anglia, and he did very good recitations of the tragedian William Topaz MAC Gonagle,. stout fellow indeed.

Alex gave me my first paid gig in a folk club.

I still miss him, and look forward to meeting other Atterson afficionados in Norwich on the weekend of 6th October.

Alex gave Pete Stanley & I lots of work-he'll be missed. He'll only be in the next room like a lot of my friends.
