How could the day go wrong?!?!?!? We spent the day at one of our favorite hangouts, I corrected papers, worked on Odyssey of the Mind stuff, started lesson plans for the week and had a nice dinner out on the town (Mexican). I'm just about to sit down and do some knitting. It's been a lovely day off! Had I known that the weather was going to be so decent, I would have found my way to a lake to kayak too! After the last two weekends of rushing around festivals, it was nice just to spend some time at home. The weather was hot and windy, but we still had an enjoyable leisurely day, starting off with a sleep in, then bacon and eggs and fresh coffee, followed by a browse around Mudcat, a potter around the garden, and some late afternoon watering. Then I picked a couple of lettuces from the garden and we took them and a good bottle of red over to John and Dale Dengate's place, where we had a lovely dinner, followed by some singing. As we walked out to the car, the night was still mild and balmy, and the wind had dropped. Now I'm back home and going to spend a little more time Mudcatting before going to bed. My kind of day! |
