22 Oct 06 - 03:18 AM (#1865463) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Festival From: Rasener Strollin try this to put an acute accent on the letter 'e' Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and type one of the following numbers on your Numeric keypad (not the numbers along the top of the keyboard)and then let the Alt key go. Your letter should appear. é = Alt 130 ë = Alt 137 è = Alt 138 The numbers are ASCII codes here is a link to the ASCII code table ASCII tables The dec column is the ASCII number and the red character are what you get. Look at the Extended ASCII codes table at the bottom of that web page. Hope this works when I post it :-) Cheers Les |

22 Oct 06 - 09:52 PM (#1866121) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Festival From: Tim theTwangler Thank You Gainsbrough. You ran a Festival to be proud of ! We had a really special weekend thanks to all the hard work you put in. Probably starting just as last years festival ended. We have been made to feel a real part of everything and we reckon you are all great people. The Music was of course superb throughout. The workshops were all great (Duncan I would rather listen to you play than myself any day) I have had a guitar lesson from a guy who's splaying I admire very much. I had a friendly chat with a guy who can carve an image in your heart with his lyrics. We saw JK's new haircut and the healthiest looking SJ we have seen for ages. Saw the professionalism of The Caters and heard loads of fantastic new (to us) songs and tunes, performed in great surroundings by people of all sizes shapes and ages. All performing the music they love and want to share. This is gonna sound very OTT but we have laughed and cried and all by the power of your music. So thank you all and can we come next year please? TA you guys are the tops thank you so very much for all your kindness and hospitality. Cheers all of you. Tim And Jen. The Twanglers. |

23 Oct 06 - 04:16 AM (#1866255) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Festival From: Tim theTwangler I take it you were celebrating the success of all that hard work? Dont forget even the most well practiced and expert of performers may lose their edge after a period of inactivity. You should have given him more of a warm up period before playing the main gig. It was a great event mate I hope yopu and all the others in the team are truly pleased with the result and feeling rightly proud of the end result. |

23 Oct 06 - 06:44 AM (#1866322) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Festival From: George Papavgeris I was back home by 11:30, knackered but very happy. Met and chatted to a lot of people, had fun on and off stage with everyone, enjoyed singing in the church and listening to everyone else, enjoyed Dai Woosnam's little speech for the award of the certificate to John Blanks (and loved the song too, John) - in all, a great festival, and Sooz deserves an enormous pat on the back for its success and for making it all seem so effortless (though I am sure she and Mike could tell a few stories about all that has gone into it). Here's to the next one! |

I agree, the youngsters were excellent. Get ready for an "Oldies" concert next year!!!!!!! Les will be first on stage. Get the zimmer frames, or should that be EARPLUGS ready. Don't be so shocked that we're surfing Tim. I've (G)been certified for it.(and I know how to use a computer too). |

If that ever happened then earplugs would be advisable. >>and I know how to use a computer too<< but not how to log on properly LOL Do you need your mind refreshing on how to do that. I have a special help document for the over 60's he he :-) |

Fancy someone in your position telling all those rude jokes when someone as innocent as me is listening. Seriously, that was a car number seen on one of the Greek Islands.I can't help it if you misunderstood my intentions (tongue in cheek!!!!!!)By the way Paul, I was very impressed with your contribution to the concert yesterday afternoon.Great stuff. Keep it up. Gwed |

03 Nov 06 - 05:56 AM (#1875243) Subject: RE: Gainsborough Folk Festival From: HipflaskAndy Hi Breezeblock. George sang with the band on Can't Go There, Woodshed Boys, Boys of Bedlam, Robin Hoods Bay and Bed of Straw. George and Duncan also finished off the Sunday concert together with Bed of Straw and Friends Like These. (I think the last pic on the link up above shows 'em mid Bed of Straw). It was, as we old hippies say, a gas! Hugs - Dunc |
