(Not counting inter league play or the World Series - just normal AL match ups). Although unlikely I believe it is possible as if the designated hitter is substituted the pitcher has to bat (is this true?) Cheers |

I remember once that a pitcher was used as a pinch hitter in the late innings but I forget who he was. He had just been traded from a National League team and was used to swinging the bat regularly.
