Anyone have the lyrics/author/artist of a song with partial lyrics; "Oh woe be to the orders that took my love from me"?

One recording of this song that I know of is by Kieran Halpin and Tom McConville on an album called "Port of Call". They call the song "High Germany".

You'd never guess who I first heard singing this song on a Scottish TV music programme in the 1970s - Mike Whellans, and he sang it very well too. I still have the recording.
