11 Oct 06 - 08:35 AM (#1855718) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: jacqui.c I think you're on it! Mudcat seems to fulfil that purpose! |

11 Oct 06 - 08:53 AM (#1855736) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Rasener Now then "Looking for Lurv", are you just after a quick shag when you go to a gig or are you looking for a long relationship :-) You haven't provided any details of yourself. |

11 Oct 06 - 09:25 AM (#1855766) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: GUEST,Looking for lurve If I was looking for a quick shag then I wouldn't be 'looking for lurve'. I have never and never plan to have one-offs. I haven't given any details about myself as this is not a dating agency! Maybe Mudcat should start one?! Please?! Single folkies or musicians are so difficult to find when you lack confidence in your own charms to the opposite gender - even if most of your time in folk clubs is spent performing. |

11 Oct 06 - 09:41 AM (#1855778) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: MBSLynne I always found folk festivals to fulfill that need. I met my husband (among many others!!!) at Sidmouth Love Lynne |

11 Oct 06 - 10:18 AM (#1855818) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Paul from Hull Oh well if we can use the 'Cat for THAT, here I go.... "47 yo Male, non-musician, seeks buxom, cuddly folkie female. Must be solvent, with own car & caravan. Please send picture of caravan." |

11 Oct 06 - 02:46 PM (#1856047) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Big Al Whittle perhaps its cos I'm getting old, but there never seems quite the mood of abandon that there used to be in folk clubs. Perhaps because of the drink drive laws being enforced - it all seems a bit subdued. Also there aren't as many really funny acts. I used to love Brownsville Banned. |

12 Oct 06 - 03:09 AM (#1856524) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: MBSLynne I wonder what it says about my basic personality that, despite being married and, sort of, settled, I still get an almost overwhelming urge to reply (or apply) to these 'ads'...even the harem one.....? Love (in the nicest possible way) Lynne |

12 Oct 06 - 10:33 AM (#1856804) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Maryrrf Just want to say to "Looking for Lurve" that I for one think it is a good idea! But I guess everyone is right, Mudcat is about as close as we have to that concept. Maybe we could start a "Mudcat singles chat?" |
|
12 Oct 06 - 10:51 AM (#1856835) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Big Al Whittle but the MBSLynne couldn't join in, if it were for singles......I can see how the mudcat thing would help people who feel nervous about using a forum where there might be all sorts of strange people. god knows some of us are strange enough.... |

12 Oct 06 - 11:11 AM (#1856868) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Elmer Fudd Great singles ad, Paul from Hull. Best laugh I've had all day. Reminds me of a song I heard on the radio last weekend whose refrain goes, "I don't just need a friend; I need a friend with a truck." Good luck. I hope you find your lass. Elmer |

13 Oct 06 - 05:45 AM (#1857633) Subject: RE: BS: Looking for lurve From: Liz the Squeak Seems to work better for Brits than Yanks.... I know of 5 Brits who have become 'hitched' via the Mudcat, but only 1 Yank. Still...... it has provided a lot of pleasure for a lot of others. LTS |
