Obit: Fred Elliot, I say, Fred Elliot

Surprised it hasn't been posted.

Who thinks it was Audreys fault?

Saw Audrey in Sainsburys the other day - She didn't look too upset. In fact she was having a coffee with Alan Bradley. Thought he was dead...

Did you know everyone in the street is less than four foot tall btw?

Cheers

Never you mind, Ron. If you have to ask it'll never make sense;-)

Even if you don't it doesn't make much.

Foghorn Leghorn and Fred Elliot were never seen on screen at the same time... makes you think (ouch!).

Poor FRED ..... He will be sadly missed but with his lifestyle (weight, smoking, drinking) his demise was hardly unexpected.
At least it saves the viewer from having to speculate on what he might have got up to on honeymoon.

Is he the rooster with Henery Hawk? We had a record of them when I was a kid ('bout 100 years ago).

What I can't get over is the Remarkable Recovery of Claire. Wasn't she a basket-case two minutes ago?

And surely we aren't expecting Shelley back for the funeral???? Charlie will be all over her like a rash ...

To Ron Olesko,

FYI "They" are referring to "Coronation Street", the longest running soap on British TV.

One more example of conspiracy of brits with secret passwords trying to take over. (it's a joke, son)

Damn. What I hate about you Englanders is that you can talk behind our backs while we Americans are looking straight at you.
Thanks for giving us somewhat of an explanation, Jon. You're a kind and generous gentleman.

-Joe, still puzzled, partly-
(and I haven't understood a British TV show since The Avengers went off the air)

Joe - you UNDERSTOOD the Avengers?

If that is the case, then I'm not surprised that the rest of the world doesn't make any sense....

This thread definitely qualifies for Below the Line status, though.
Quack!

I have been watching Corrie for many, many years and I thought this post was about the actor who played Fred and that he had died. By the time I figured it all out, I had read too much! In England, you are months ahead of us in Canada. Sure blew some surprises for us!

Sorry Duke - I tried to be purposely vague but I guess you followed the link to the more detailed site.

I say below the line as well and happen to know that the team do regularly scan obits to see if there is anything to do with music in it.

Here in Blighty, the daily newspapers blow the 'plot' (if that isn't too strong a word! Miaoww!) long before the programme airs... so much so that the programme makers now record at least two different outcomes each time, and not even the actors know until it is aired which version will be screened.

What worries me, though, is how seriously some people take these things... it's fiction, after all!!

;0)

It seems like all the old timers on the show will soon be all gone. Some will be sadly missed, others not. We all get old and some need to retire.

Watch out, Kevin and Sally! You're the last traditional 'nuclear family' left on the Street, so your time must be running out. Oh, and how long can Frankie go on concealing that advanced pregnancy?

Well, Bernard Wrigley and Geoff Higginbottom have both appeared on Corrie, but not singing, IIRC, so this should really be below the line.
