Lots of news: Max – Pene Azul - Mudcat

Emily and I sent a card to our parents recently. Went like this:

We're married! (finally) It's funny because the folks have been harping on us to get hitched.

Baby is due any time now. Official due date is November 11, but all signs are pointing to an early birth. We’re ready for any time now. So… I won’t be making it to the Getaway this year. Need to stay local.

Alexis is 16 now, very soon will have her drivers license. She’s doing very well in school, and is an all around great kid.

Pene Azul: Pene’s father has taken ill, very ill. Pene has been spending about 20 hours a day tending to his father at the hospital. To do this, Pene has quit most of his jobs, and is in quite a bind with all of his and his father’s bills, not to mention the medical expenses involved. So please send your best wishes to Pene, and consider making a contribution to elffund@mudcat.org using http://paypal.com. I am putting several items from the mudcat physical archive into the auction to raise funds for Pene in this very difficult time. The items are awesome, so dig deep, take something awesome home and help our only employee of this great resource.

Mudcat update: We fixed it! We have officially recovered from the crash last year. All the data is right, and we’re very close to putting it live. We hoped to have it ready for the anniversary, but are very slightly behind schedule due to our personal issues. What does this mean? The search results will link correctly and be updated daily. Doubles are gone. Google results will link correctly. And we’ll be able to begin work on a defense system for the spam and deal with some guest issues.

I have some great ideas in action for a permanent source of funding for the Mudcat. Our 501(c)3 status in now pending, and I have made some deals with soon-to-be-announced vendors that may very well fund us completely. Very exciting. Stay tuned for more news on that.

I want to second what Max is saying about Jeff. He and I correspond. You will not meet a man who loves his father more than Jeff. Please help out if possible.

Wow... doesn't seem possible that the little girl in the photos is the baby Mario and Mick were fighting over ---was it that many Getaway's ago ???? Congrats to you and all the ladies. My teenage girl will no longer be a teen in a couple of months -- blessings and grace upon you all.

AND BY THE FREAKIN' WAY..........Someone named Max Spiegel LOST a bet on the Ohio State/PennState game and although it was a great game.....you still lost and I'm waiting for the payoff! Anytime Max.....anytime....(:<))

Folks, Jeff has always been there for us and let's see what we can do for him. I know in my case, I owe Jeff and the 'Cat members like Tinker up there more than I can ever repay so I'm sending some on to Jeff as just a tiny bit of payback. If it ain't payback for you than pay it forward!!!

I too have corresponded with Jeff but lately I have left the channel open without bugging him as I know his plate is not just full, but overflowing. He's a helluva' guy and a good friend......to all of us. Do what you can.

I'm waiting on that bet payoff Max...........or do I need to come give you a swift kick in the balls?

I love it when Max updates us on his goings on--those messages are never boring! Lily has grown so fast! Everything happening in a way it needs to. And Jeff, I'm so sorry to read if your difficulties.

We are going to arrange for a raffle at the Getaway to raise funds for Pene.
