Need ceilidh fiddler Manchester 21Oct

All the usual violinists for the musical collective known as the Black Diamond Ceilidh Band have absented themselves this Saturday (21st October), and we are in a bit of a muddle for a wedding ceilidh in Disley this Saturday. Having been frightened near to death by the excellence of violin playing in a pub session in Manchester, I'm sure there must be a fiddler at a loose end prepared to turn out for a reasonable purse on Saturday, but I don't know who they are.

Any of our Mancunian brethren who could put me in touch with a suitably disposed fiddler? Please PM me

English, Irish or Scottish?

And American too, John. An all-rounder, in other words. Splendid to hear from you, please send me best to your mum.

If there's some money involved, try Steve Landin (address on http://www.manchesterklezmer.org/pages/contact_us.html). he certainly is brilliant, and certainly does a huge range of stuff.

Chris Perry is in Macclesfield, and has all the qualities you're looking for. His website is here Hope this helps.
Tim.

Thanks Tim and Paul, both leads followed up, and the complimentary pint goes to Paul, who will be furnished with same by Steve Landin on next meeting in appropriate premises. Steve can't actually do the gig, but he has put me in touch with a lady fiddler (who is also a merde chaud accordionista) who has kindly agreed to play for us.

Good old Mudcat does it again.
