Is this it?

MY GIRL'S A YORKSHIRE GIRL

Two young fellows were talking about
Their girls, girls, girls —
Sweethearts they'd left behind,
Sweethearts for whom they pined.
One said, "My little shy little lass
Has a waist so trim and small.
Gray are her eyes so bright,
But best, best of all...

"My girl's a Yorkshire girl —
Yorkshire through and through.
My girl's a Yorkshire girl,
Eh! by gum, she's a champion!
Though she's a factory lass
And wears no fancy clothes,
Still I've a sort of a Yorkshire relish
For my little Yorkshire Rose."

When the first finished singing the praise
Of Rose, Rose, Rose,
Poor number two looked vexed,
Saying in tones perplexed:
"My lass works in a factory too
And has also eyes of gray;
Her name is Rose as well,
And strange, strange to say...

"My girl's a Yorkshire girl —
Yorkshire through and through.
My girl's a Yorkshire girl,
Eh! by gum, she's a champion!
Though she's a factory lass
And wears no fancy clothes,
Still I've a sort of a Yorkshire relish
For my little Yorkshire Rose."

To a cottage in Yorkshire they hied
To Rose, Rose, Rose,
Meaning to make it clear
Which was the boy most dear.
Rose, their Rose, didn't answer the bell,
But her husband did instead.
Loudly he sang to them
As off, off they fled...

"My girl's a Yorkshire girl —
Yorkshire through and through.
My girl's a Yorkshire girl,
Eh! by gum, she's a champion!
Though she's a factory lass
And wears no fancy clothes,
Still I've a sort of a Yorkshire relish
For my little Yorkshire Rose."

Lyrics and sound clip (last verse+chorus) are available here: My Girl's A Yorkshire Girl - Music In The Works of James Joyce. There is a CD of the song available there (though it looks like US).

If you're looking for the sheet music, there is a version in The New Busker's Fake Book at MusicRoom - click more to see the contents. (I have the earlier edition of this, but I'm afraid that song's not in it). At £39.95 it's pricey for one song.

If you're really desperate, I could supply you with the melody and chords from the sound clip.

Tell them to send it extra fast. It will cost extra, but that'll likely be the only way you get it on time.

The penultimate line of the chorus "Still I've a sort of a Yorkshire relish" lead to the song being used as a marketing campaign for Goodall's Yorkshire Relish, who distributed over 1.5 million copies of an abbreviated version of the sheet music. Anyone seen a copy?

Right well I do reckon the best accent for this song is Yorkshire as are many songs about Yorkshire and some London ish accents are not appropriate ~ lol ~ of course if you live elsewhere you may get away with it ~ no names no pack drill ~ you know who you are!
