Lyr Req: Adoreo? / Sarasponda (camp song)

Glad to find this Cafe! What a great idea! I remember a song they used to sing at camp in the 60s. It had either nonsense or other-than-English lyrics. Included (phonetic spelling) "a-door-ay-oh. a-door-ay boom-day oh. a-door-ay boom-day ret-set-set. ah-say pah-say oh." No, I still have my sanity. They really sang that. Anyone know it?

Yes but don't know how to spell it or even what language it's meant to be.
Seris bunda, seris bunda, seris bunda ret set set,
Seris bunda, seris bunda, seris bunda ret set set,
Ador ay o, ador ay bun de o,
Ador ay bun de ret set set,
Ah say pah say O

or words to that effect.
At least, that's the way I learnt it in NZ.

Try "Sarisponda", and as I recall it was a spinning song from someplace in eastern Europe. Slovak?

From girl scouts in New York, I remember what sounded like:

Taris bunda (bulba?), taris bunda, taris bunda ra sa sa
Taris bunda, taris bunda, taris bunda ra sa sa
Adorayo, adoray bunday o
Adoray bunda ra sa sa, ra sa sa say o

It seems like the same song. Amazing how these things get around.

Hello, open mike. In case you or someone else reading this doesn't know the steps for making blue clickies, here's how I did it:

1. I copied the link you had posted {"the copy" feature is found in "edit" on the top of the page.

2. I then clicked on the "Make a link {blue clicky}" feature that is found at the bottom of this box.

3. That lead me to a link maker page. I put the URL {website address} that you posted in the "Link URL column" that appears on that page.

4. Since I didn't name the link, I skipped the "Link text (optional*)" column, and clicked on "create link".

5. Once that link appeared, I copied it.

6. I then came back to this page and pasted that link in the Mudcat message box.

[There may be other ways that work, but this is what works for me]

Btw, I don't know what "URL" stands for.

And BTW2, I never heard that sara sponda/ adoreo song before. Thanks for sharing info about that video. The kids were cute singing it.

Best wishes,

Azizi

here is another thread where we discussed this..
the different spelling is probably what made it
NOT be included in the links, or found in the search.

This song is running through my head. I leaned it in girl scouts in the 1950s. Here is what it sounded like to me:

Ador-ay-o, ador-ay-bun-y-o
Ador-ay-bun-day ra-say-sa
Ra say ka say ha ho.

It is very cheerful. Does anyoine know anything ab out it? Language? meaning? more words?

Hi, Susan -
It's Sarasponda.
http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=29213

How do I get angle brackets on this tablet?

Fixed it, now that I'm on a computer with an actual keyboard...

And the first line, which I remembered later, I think of as Taris Bunda, must be that Sarasponda. It is hard to look up things you cannot spell.

Use the link maker and you do not need angle brackets.
I'm going to close this thread to avoid confusion. Please continue discussion on this thread (click). Thanks.
