From: Peter Kasin

Cindy Kallet will be performing a sea music concert aboard the historic square-rigger Balclutha, berthed at Hyde Street Pier on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, saturday, November 18, 8pm. She'll be joined on several songs by Irish flute and tinwhistle master Grey Larsen.

If you haven't yet heard Cindy Kalet, she is a singer-songwriter and guitarist with a voice to die for. The natural beauty of the New England Coast serves as inspiration for many of her songs.

Tickets: $14 general, $12 San Francisco Maritime National Park Association members. For tickets: 415-561-6662, ext. 12.

best,

Cindy and Grey gave a stunning concert in Ithaca NY last weekend.
You folks on the left coast, anywhere near 'Frisco,
this is a show not to be missed. Get them to do the double
fiddle, double vocal scando stuff! Honestly, whatever they do
will be heartwarming. I second maeve. Don't miss it!

Refresh.

Typo in my first post, 2nd paragraph. Kallet with two L's is the correct spelling. If you're in the area, tickets can also be bought in person at the park's gifstore, The Maritime Store, 2905 Hyde Street, at the entrance to the pier.

I totally agree with maeve, Pamela and Kendall. They are stunning performers, no exaggeration.

Open Mike might be refering to my post -
and yes "scando" means scandinavian.
Cindy and Grey do some lovely double fiddle
with vocal material with to-die-for harmonies.

Go hear them!

Cindy and Grey will be guests on the radio program "Folk music and beyond," KALW FM, 91.7 (San Francisco's NPR affiliate), 3:00pm this Saturday, before they wend their way over to the Balclutha.

The concert was a great success ! It was sold out, with 110 concertgoers, plus one extra ticket sold, so everyone got in. It was a nice, warm evening, and Cindy and Grey did a great show. Yes, they did the Swedish fiddle duet, which was beautiful. My thanks to concert volunteers/Mudcatters Melani and BillR, who helped put away chairs and re-arrange some very heavy waysides in the Balclutha shelterdeck.

Chantyranger-

Nice to hear that the concert was well attended, and you should be encouraged to invite other great singers from "away" for such concerts in the future. Of course you probably had to work your tail off to get 110 folks to show up. Lord knows, it ain't easy!
