It is a very good programme, certainly my favourite. I won Eliza Carthy's CD 'Angels and Cigarettes' in a competition a few years ago so am biased though.

Don't know why you are biased, although Eliza's a heroine, I personally found that particular album to be on the whole, unlistenable and promptly gave my copy away.

Thanks so much for this link, I loved Stan's book but never heard his big voice, there were 3 great cuts weaved into the interview.

Maybe I'm the last one to see this amazing BBC radio show site, what an array of programs are on archive. thx for that too
