22 Nov 06 - 07:53 PM (#1891272) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I Don't Want to Put No Hold on You (Flint From: GUEST,Timmytour I´ve spent a couple of months looking for this. Recently tried picking up a guitar again and the tune came into my head from nowhere, I remember it from the opportunity knocks days, but it doesn´t appear to be on many compilation albums Just now I tried for the first time actaully putting in part of the lyrics I could recall instead of berni Flint, and was at first pleaed to come across this and then amazed at how recent the posts were! Is there some strange force at work which is propelling this song back into people´s minds. Are we looking at a 2007 number one! |

23 Nov 06 - 03:54 AM (#1891450) Subject: RE: Req: I Don't Want to Put No Hold on You (B. Flint) From: GUEST,Tunesmith It's amazing that Bernie had all that publicity from Opportunity Knocks, and then had a massive hit, and then - Nothing! His second release " Southern Comfort"(?) didn't help as it was a very ordinary song. |

I've wanted to do this song at an open mic I go to and have looked on google a few times to no avail. Then had another go a few days back and there it was.... Thanks a lot. As the song is short I made up some more lyrics out of my own brain.... If you get tired of me, I'll understand I'll find something else to do, join a rock n roll band Spend my evenings all alone, weekends at the zoo But I don't want to put no hold on you Though I will miss you badly I'll not shed a tear And I'll never let it show I would take you back so gladly, you need never fear But I won't stop you if you want to go. I do it in c For the into play.... c cmaj7 (i.e. c with your index finger lifted off to give the note b) F G Rock n Roll Rich |
