December is now ready to be sent out. In the evening Brian Peters and Gordon Tyrrall perform together at the Lewes Arms folk club (admission £6). December Brian Peters leads an all-day ballad forum at the Lewes Arms (admission £15, specify your chosen ballad in advance if possible). I'll post separately about this. December 2006 10.45 a.m.- 4.45 p.m. The Lewes Arms, Mount Place, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 1YH Brian Peters is an internationally-known instrumentalist & singer with a wide teaching experience on melodeon, including Melodeons at Witney, Folkworks, Music without Frontiers (Netherlands) & a Masterclass at the Australian National Folk Festival. He also gives regular lessons to groups & individuals. Working solo, with Gordon Tyrall, & in various bands, he specialises in Northern English dance music & accompanying traditional song, but has also experimented with blues, Tex-Mex & much else. He is an excellent Anglo concertina player as well. The workshop will cover three main topics if time permits (see provisional timetable). Players should have a G/D instrument & be reasonably experienced; music will be provided for readers but by-ear learners are welcome too.
