This song was written in 1941. The lyrics are by Don Reid & Sammy Kaye. The music is by Don Reid. I have the lyrics but I am looking for the sheet music in order to create a midi karaoke file. Does anyone know where I can find it ?    TIA

Sol, "Remember the Mudcat" - if you have the lyrics transcribed and you'd like to post them here, that would be nice.

OK, Here are the lyrics.

History in ev'ry century
Records and act that lives forever more
We'll recall, as into line we fall
The thing that happened on Hawaii's shore

Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we go to meet the foe
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we did the Alamo

We will always remember
How they died for Liberty
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
And go on to victory

Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we go to meet the foe
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we did the Alamo

We will always remember
How they died for Liberty
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
And go on to victory

My friend, Ms. Bunty Pritchard Jones, in the UK is now creating the midi-karaoke file for this song that is playable with the free VanBasco program. It will be finished shortly and will be available for FREE distribution. I will be happy to send it to anyone who wants it. Just PM me with your e-mail address.

The recording that I have was done by Sammy Kaye & His Orchestra along with the Glee Club. Sammy Kaye was one of the co-authors of the lyrics.

The midi-Karaoke file is now ready for anyone that wants it. Please PM me with your e-mail address and I will send it to you.

Hurrah! I have been singing this (slightly altered due to bad memory) at the Royal Mile pub chanty sing in Dec. for years. I just remembered it from childhood, ok, half remembered but the other half repeats itself. Now I know origin. Instead of " died for liberty" I was singing "fight on land and sea" but I wasn't too far off.
I remeber the other side of the record was "You're a Sap Mister Jap"
"You're a sap mister Jap, you don't know Uncle Sammy
When he fights for his rights, you'll take it on the lammy,          Wait and see before we're done,
The ABC&D will sink your rising sun

ABCD Amer.Brit CHina, Dutch (Indo) That's all I remember, but gosh, Iwas seven years old

I guess we have to thank the Readers Digest for preserving these old songs with their anthology recordings. Otherwise I would have never known about this song or others like it. It would have disappeared into the vast wasteland of political correctness.
