24 Nov 06 - 08:33 AM (#1892412) Subject: Seasonal vocal harmony(Stoke) From: greg stephens Kate Barfield(of the Boat Band) is running an open access choir/singing group, in Stoke-on-Trent. She is joint organiser of the very wonderful Loudmouth Women. but thought that with Christmas coming she'd do a one-off choir with men and women welcome. Meets in Penkhull Chuch Hall, every Thursday, 7.30-9.30. till Christmas. The last Thursday the extremely rough and ready group intends to go out round the three pubs within a few yards of the hall. Repertoire is traditional seasonal treats: Wassail songs, Derby Ram, Holly Bears a Berry typeof thing. Her poster says "for people who think they can't sing", but I know she could do with people who can sing, as well! So if you fancy learning a few harmonies and are near Stoke, that could be the place for you on Thursday evenings. I am a crap singer, and will be going along to improve myself. |
