Anyone else going? It is always a very nice music camp put on by the Vancouver Folk Singing Society. Just look up VFSS. For insurance reasons you might need to be a member of a folk club somewhere but I can't say for sure. It is close to the US/Canada border and can be reached easily by public transportation. Cost is about $80 US. There was still room last time I heard. Music is usually quite outstanding. Best of any local camps I would say.   mg

I'm driving up from Seattle in a very fuel efficient car -- would be happy to take a rider or two. Call Jean at 206 721 4940 (or ) for more info.

Oops -- the "or" should have been followed by my email address: robinia@eskimo.com (I made the mistake of bracketing it . . .)

Sorry..I know there is recent thread but I couldn't pull up anythiung past 2005. Anyway, there is serious weather going on in the Northwest and I would like for people from the frozen North to keep us in the balmier areas updated as to road conditions, predictions etc. I know we are iced over in Long Beach right now but we have a few days to thaw out...    mg

Oh come on..give us a hint what the roads are like..both I5 through Bellingham and Skagit Valley..I know all schools were closed today..and also the B.C. roads to the camp..lots of cloverleafs as I recall. If people don't feel like driving, it is possible from Seattle, Bellingham..some points in between..to take Greyhound, or better yet, Quick Shuttle and go downtown and take the local bus to Camp Alexandra/White Rock or you can get off fairly close at some grocery store but you should have a ride lined up first. I don't think it is walking distance. mg

I should apologize to all those who can really drive in snow. It shuts us right down here..a couple of inches..but it turns to ice and is awful to drive on. I left my car at work and got a ride home last night and walked in this morning ....road I work on is sheer ice with a nice mucky bottom river to fall in if you slip...mg
