27 years gone today and still a gaping whole in the fabric of a lot of our lives. Thought it deserved a mention.

I never realized until now he died on Sinead O'Connor's and Jim Morrison's birthday.

Now that is some seriously wierd shit.

The Beatles were my favourite group in my teens... still are now. Still have all the insert pics in the White Album.

Poor John. A legend.

Be jeepers 27 years seem's like yesterday what a loss
what masterpieces would he have created had he lived.

I am not sure tha he had a lot more masterpieces left in him. When he became a nicer man, he became a less interesting songwriter. He did not actually deserve to be shot for "Double Phantasy", but it was not a promising pointer to the future.
That said, I miss his voice and I was as stunned and horrified as anyone else on that awful day in 1980. My life would certainly have been poorer without his work.
