I'm trying recipes out prior to making a large celebration version next week/ (What a great excuse!) |

10 Dec 06 - 04:26 AM (#1905150) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: Sooz That looks good Bert will have a go for a Christmas treat. Not sure about the coca cola one though Scoville - it has some dodgy ingredients for us veggies. |
10 Dec 06 - 05:12 AM (#1905162) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: My guru always said I'm having a go at Delia's cake today, though with a few minor alterations for allergies & dislikes - the good news is the substitute of Rum & Brandy for the juice of 2 oranges. Only problem is, how many fluid ounces should that be? Wish me luck.... |
10 Dec 06 - 11:02 AM (#1905348) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: maeve I think I'll try the Delia cake today, as well. I usually use a recipe using a bit of coffee in it or one with a trace of peach schnapps. This will be a fun change. maeve |
10 Dec 06 - 11:28 AM (#1905368) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: My guru always said Well I guessed at between 4 - 6 fluid ounces per orange and to even things up a bit I'm letting the dried fruit drink the alchohol first - worth a try! Good luck with yours Sooz & Maeve! |
10 Dec 06 - 02:17 PM (#1905502) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: Bee-dubya-ell Yeah, here's my favorite chocolate cake recipe: 1 lb Dark Chocolate 1 lb Milk Chocolate 1 lb White Chocolate 1 cup Self-Rising Flour 1 cup Oil 1 cup Water 1 Egg Combine flour, oil, water and egg into mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer for one minute. Pour resulting batter onto compost pile. Eat chocolate. |

I assume you're vegan and not vegetarian--I'm sure there's a vegan somewhere who can provide you with substitutes. Maybe the lady at the Vegan Lunch Box blog. Oh, wait--the marshmallows. You can just leave those out. It's a small difference. |

10 Dec 06 - 06:21 PM (#1905718) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: LilyFestre I had a piece of chocolate cake last week that was THE BEST EVER! It was made by a teacher in my building....she'll be giving me the recipe tomorrow. I'll share it later this week. :) YUM. YUM. YUM. Michelle |
11 Dec 06 - 12:57 PM (#1906503) Subject: RE: BS: Chocolate Cake From: Mrrzy My fave is chocolate pudding cake, I am looking for my family recipe because all the ones on the Internet have hot water where we have coffee... The idea is to make a cake batter, put in pan, and before baking you carefully pour the hot liquid over it. Then when it's baked you have cake on top and pudding underneath... really good hot with barely whipped cream or vanilla or coffee ice cream! |
