A great thread could be started then all of a sudden someone jumps in and it's an immediate attack in a personal nature. The thread is then destroyed. I have come close in pushing the submit button then delete it because to submit is only to go against what I don't like about Mudcat. How long will it take before this thread will be railroaded? I know, if you don't like it then don't read it. That's not always true if your involved in a really good post. What I don't understand is why "management" lets it go so long. I don't have a problem with foul language. Heck most of us use it. But when it starts to be a personal attack and degrading another person the powers that operate this great site should immediately cut them off. Maybe for a week or so to make a point. |

Some of us sadly do not. It takes all sorts, huh? There are a few who seem to like coming accross as "objectionable old buggers" :-) Posting by "Anonymous Guest" is of course outside this 'envelope' and maybe why such posts are usually seen as an annoyance. I (usually) try to appear jovial, educated and helpfull, so if I read my post before sending and it doesn't measure up, I don't hit submit. But sometimes I cant see my own flaws too well :-) |

It didn't work. Opening a new tab, I found that the link was to a really messed up page where I couldn't easily make a link to what I wanted, so my second thought was %$@#!, and I decided to forgo starting the thread, but: THERE AIN'T NO "CANCEL" BUTTON FOR CREATING A NEW THREAD. It did cause me to wonder if just backing out left a mess somewhere in need of elf attention(?). Inability to easily check back within a thread while one's preview is up may perhaps contribute to an occasional misquote or misattribution that could be more easily caught before hitting the "Submit," but I suspect few people are AR enough to be much concerned.
