17 Dec 06 - 05:43 AM (#1911585) Subject: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: Dave the Gnome I must say I am quite looking forward to it. Hope I am not disappointed but with David Jason in the cast I suspect it is going to be quite good. For those not in the know - Sky One 8-10pm tonight and tomorrow. Check it out here. Cheers DtG |

17 Dec 06 - 08:40 AM (#1911701) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: The Walrus I can't help thinking that David Jason comes across as too 'nice' a character for "Albert" (I always visualised Albert as more like the late Wilfred Bramble in a bad mood), but I hope to be proved wrong. All in all, I'm also quite looking forward to it. W |

17 Dec 06 - 09:30 AM (#1911734) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: Dave the Gnome I think that Sky will try their damndest, mack. They want to sell it after all:-) Now, let us know who makes the buying decicisions and we will guide our collective wills to bend theirs! I think you will probably be quicker just waiting for the DVD though - Or getting one of us ukers to send you an illegal copy, Heaven forbid! Cheers DtG |

From: Leadfingers IF I had a TV and IF I subscribed to Sky , I would probably forego a couple of nights out to watch ! Failing that , maybe someone will , as DtG suggests , do a copy !! IF They do , in a format I can put through my 'puter I would be interested . |

I'll wait for a DVD. FC |

From: MBSLynne I got all excited when I saw that it was on, though it would have to be really good to be as good as my imaginings of it. Then I saw that it was on Sky, which we don't have. I am soooo disappointed! I would have been watching if I could! Love Lynne |

17 Dec 06 - 04:27 PM (#1912040) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: Liz the Squeak If we had Sky, I'd be watching it.... and beating the Limpit off with a stick! We loved the animated Pratchets (Soul Music and the other one which escapes me at this precise moment but is heavily influenced by MacBeth) and wondered why they stopped at two. They were superbly done, just not enough of them! I, too, was excited when I read the blurb but then when I saw it was only on Sky, I was so disappointed. I always saw Wilfred Bramble as Albert too.... must be that particular class of dirty old man. Just wonder if anyone else can be as good a Death as Christopher Lee. LTS |

17 Dec 06 - 05:17 PM (#1912100) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: GUEST, ... Susan was how I imagined her and more so. But Death had been given a face with lots of huge teeth, too far forward, like a chimpanzee with its jaw wired - the voice would have been much better coming out of a dark empty space. |

From: Dave the Gnome I recorded it and will record tonights as well - Have a Hogfatherathon later this week:-) We had a bit of an issue with the recording though so I will re-record part 1 on Christmas day as well. We only discovered how to turn off audio documentary near the end so it is annotated most of the way through! How long have Sky been doing that and how come it was the default setting on our NTL box? Anyone know? Cheers DtG |

18 Dec 06 - 10:03 AM (#1912617) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone going to watch the Hogfather? From: Flash Company Liz.. The other animated film was Wyrd Sisters, and yes, they were good. The cast photo of Susan looks just about right, I have liked Susan since she first appeared as a rebellious teenager. Christopher Lee could probably have played Death without any make-up. FC |
