23 Dec 06 - 06:01 PM (#1917749) Subject: RE: Mooh's Blues Christmas From: SharonA Actually, "Oh God, I'm Santa Claus" isn't particularly soothing as such (and it's not a blues song at all), but the character in the song has certainly got the blues! |

24 Dec 06 - 07:43 AM (#1918072) Subject: RE: Mooh's Blues Christmas From: Mooh Who did "Chet's Nuts Roasting By An Open Fire"? Actually the songs I like better aren't the novelty or parody songs, but the real Christmas blues...was thinking about this yesterday when word arrived that someone we know died of cancer. Nevertheless, some good old rockin' blues did much last night to improve the mood. Peace, Mooh. |

24 Dec 06 - 10:08 AM (#1918128) Subject: RE: Mooh's Blues Christmas From: Azizi Mooh, my condolences on the passing of a person you knew. Btw, I have to confess that I'm unfamiliar with most of the songs on your list. So I have a lot of Blues music experiencing to look forward to. When I posted that link to Nat King Cole singing The Christmas Song, in spite of the title of this thread, I didn't 'get' that you wanted only Blues songs to add to your list. I'm not sure if Nat King Cole is considered a Blues singer or a jazz vocalist or an easy listening vocalist {whatever "easy listening" means}. I read that Nat King Cole started out as a jazz pianist. Be that it may, his rendition of Chestnut's Roasting On An Open Fire, has become a Christmas classic. I hope you don't mind its inclusion on your list. Best wishes, Azizi |
