BS: 2006 Chicago to New Orleans walk-outcome?

Subject: BS: 2006: Chicago to New Orleans-outcome???
From: Joe Offer

I had to close the Serious Advice Needed thread because it had become a regular target for Spam. It's a fascinating thread about the plans of a man from the U.K. to walk from Chicago to New Orleans - but the thread didn't say whether he ever made the trip. Anybody know what happened?
I love walking cities, and I've walked the older districts of many of the cities of the U.S. and Europe and never had a problem - but I've never walked between cities and I've always slept in motels or homes. Don't know that I'd consider a trip like this young man had planned, but it sure sounds like a wonderful adventure.
Any word on the outcome? Was it posted in another thread?

My advice: Change the words 'advice needed' in the title to other words and you can reopen the thread safely.

Thread title doesn't seem to be what affects the pattern of Spam posting, Wolfgang. Certain thread URLs seem to be targeted. On occasion, I've moved all the "good" messages from a spam-targeted thread and retained the title, and that seems to resolve the problem - but I have to move messages one at a time, so I can't do that on long threads.

Thanks for posting this thread, Joe, and thanks to Bee-dubya-ell for the website link. I was wondering what had come of his plans.
