The beer is good , the location is good and the music and song will be as good as we can make it ! The landlord (Tony Matz) is extremely Folk Friendly and can be contacted on 0116 2792285 . |

I'm not sure it took much less time to take a pair up the hill than taking them up the locks and there's no point taking a wide boat up because you can't then get it down Watford! The thing that killed it was that there was an extra charge for the lift. I thought the Foxton Locks reopened last year, or does it shut for the winter? You wouldn't want to try a session there on a summer Saturday lunchtime! |

Tony Matts has opened his own pub across the way in one of the buildings he actually owns on the site and this is called Bridge 61. |

The staff were very kind and accommodating, and dried out her coat and trousers on the radiator while we drank Everard's Christmas ale... Unfortunately the 16th is the first night of Cheltenham festival - but have a lovely time, all who are going! |

We have a boat based at M Harborough and will be on it at Foxton on 16th. What a coincidence. We spent many a drunken evening in Bridge 61 last summer. Played a lot of melodeon in there too. Yes they are folkie-friendly. Beer is very good. Really hope we aren't barred though. We ended up with Tony's barman on our boat stranded in floods north of Leicester in October and he missed two days of work.....Tony wasnt pleased. Vx |
