12 Jan 07 - 08:28 AM (#1934222) Subject: BS: Skin, Health, Diet From: GUEST,Job For the past couple of years, I've been afflicted by a series of minor skin irritations and infections. And I'm well-past adolescence! And, yes, I do bathe .... I don't eat much in the way of meat or dairy products, generally avoiding cholesterol, but in other respects I don't pay a lot of attention to my diet. Anyone think I should be consuming more of something in particular? |

There were a number of foods that I was advised to avoid and, after taking the advice and cutting them out of my diet, the skin problems cleared up. |

12 Jan 07 - 05:11 PM (#1934703) Subject: RE: BS: Skin, Health, Diet From: Alice After reading the thread about what is living on our skin.... I researched the human Demodex mite online and found that it is a cause of many skin problems on the face and scalp. Estimated over 97% of humans have demodex on the oily areas of their face and scalp and in the eyelashes. They live on our sebum in pores. If you can get rid of most of them, it may help to clear your skin. Use a cleanser/toner containing Sea Buckthorn Oil, like those made by Aubrey Organics. I found them at the local natural foods store, but you can buy the products online. Also, pore clearing strips made by Biore will pull out the oil plugs and demodex. If you are consistent in using the Sea Buthorn Oil products to cleanse every morning and evening for long enough to wipe most of them out during their life cycle, it should help clear your skin. They are passed from adults to infants by touch, including breast feeding, cuddling, etc. The large pores on forehead, nose and chin harbor these guys. Most of the research online seems to be from a doctor in China, but you can find the info at many sources.
