Hi all,

If any of you frequent-BSers would like to join the effort to keep Mudcat's African American Spirituals Permathread current, please let me know-- I need help like the team I enjoyed working with in the past. We have a lot of new members since then, so if this sounds like the kind of thing that would interest you, please be in touch.

Thanks,

~Susan

Susan, I would like to repeat what I have written in the public forum, and in pms to you- I very much appreciate the work that you have done and are doing with the African American Spirituals Permathread.

I am aware that no race, or ethnicity, or nationality owns a particular genre of music. African American spirituals and African American gospel music certainly can be just as important to you as they are to me.

However, for personal reasons, I will not be volunteering to assist you in maintaining the African American Spirituals permathread.

I notice on another thread that you have expressed concern regarding my using the wrong titling process for posting music examples.
I also notice that you have expressed concern regarding the number of examples of spirituals and gospel music that I have posted on Mudcat, including video clips.

I have just written two posts in the New Members FAQ thread asking for clarification about how posts should be written and titled, including posts that include links to YouTube and other videos.

I have not yet posted any video links to the African American Spirituals Permathread. However, if it is appropriate and if it would help, I can post those links to videos that I have included in other threads onto the African American Spirituals permathread.

Also, if this will help, I will go back and correct the way I have titled individual posts that have lyrics to an African American spiritual and/or gospel song. Furthermore, I will post the thread number where those songs are found in the African American Spirituals Permathread and will henceforth to the best of my ability and understanding follow the Mudcat rules for titling posts.

Best wishes,

Azizi

Yes, that would be a HUGE help, and what we would need in that regard would be:
<> The YouTube link
<> The thread number where you posted it
<> The song title (as the artist titled it)

Also, if this will help, I will go back and correct the way I have titled individual posts that have lyrics to an African American spiritual and/or gospel song.

Thank you, that would be helpful. There is extensive information about this in the FAQ, as regards titling of subject lines of posts.

Furthermore, I will post the thread number where those songs are found in the African American Spirituals Permathread and will henceforth to the best of my ability and understanding follow the Mudcat rules for titling posts.

Thank you, what we would need are:
<> The thread number where you posted it
<> The song title

From those, I can work your contributions into the index AND they will show up on Mudcat searches MUCH more easily..

I'll still need some other volunteer assistance with that permathread, so I am still looking for help.

~Susan
