"LONGFIELD JIG, THE. Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard. AABB. The tune begins on the subdominent chord. Source for notated version: Joe Keegan, a flute player from the Co. Laois side of Portartington, father of pianist and fiddler Josephine Keegan [McGuire & Keegan]. McGuire & Keegan (Irish Tunes by the 100, vol. 1), 1975; No. 14, pg. 4."

"LONGFIELD JIG, THE - MAGUIRE 1 #14 p4 (D) from Joe Keegan "

The only two mentions of it I could find.

Marc,

http://www.thesession.org/index.php

It might be worth it to ask at that site. They are dedicated to Irish music, and no doubt someone in their membership will have a copy of the book, sheet music or mp3 with the song. I am presently hitting dead-ends everywhere.

Thanks you very much for your efforts Peace, I truly appreciate it. I posted a tune request on the session the same time I started this post, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'll let you know if I find anything, I to am finding the same dead ends.
