Perhaps a takeoff on SHE'S LOOKIN' BETTER BY THE MINUTE.

SHE'S LOOKIN' BETTER EVERY BEER
New Riders of the Purple Sage

Well, I guess it's been at least an hour
And I didn't plan to stay.
I only dropped in to drink a beer,
Float off on my way.
It was a pale and rather plain girl
Over in the corner sippin' wine.
When I did not sit down at her table,
She sat down at mine.

CHORUS:
And she's lookin' better ev'ry beer.
Her hair is soft and shiny, now.
Her eyes are bright and clear.
How could it be I didn't notice her
When I first came in here?
Now she's lookin' better ev'ry beer.

Well, the bar lights and the candles
Show a little color on the chin,
And two by two, the people leave.
One by one came in.
The jukebox plays and the Coke-filled ashtrays
Warn the time flies.
Ev'ry time I drain my mug,
I can't believe my eyes. - Wow!

CHORUS [with emphasis and a little slurred voice]:

She's lookin' better ev'ry beer.
[Oh yes you are, aw!]
Her hair is soft and shiny, now.
Her eyes are bright and clear.
How could it be I didn't notice her
When I first came in here?
Now, she's lookin' better ev'ry beer.

Reminds me of an evening in my local when I lived in Sooke. The establishment was known to turn the house lights to full brightness in order to chase the patrons out. This one particular evening, a voice rang out from the back of the room, "Oh no switch them off, I'm taking her home!"
It's a funny song but I think my wife would kill me.

Here ya go, Jimlad. I fixed it for ya - the wife won't kill ya for this version, although you might feel a little funny singin' it. ;-D

As written by John Shine:

I guess it's been at least an hour, though I didn't plan to stay.
I only dropped in here to drown in beer and float off alone on my way.
I spied a pale and sorta plain girl in the corner sipping wine,
And when I did not sit down at her table, she sat with me at mine.

Now I was rather nervous and perhaps a trifle shy,
But still I will be friendly even if I have to try.
And so I called the waiter and he brought another round,
And somewhere near the end of it, I looked at her and found...

CHORUS: She's looking better and better and better every beer.
Her hair is soft and shiny now. Her eyes are bright and clear.
I could go home to snooze or watch the news, but something keeps me here.
She's looking better every beer.

Now that the bar lights and the candles throw some color on her chin,
And two by two, the people leave who one by one came in,
The jukebox plays and the butt-filled ashtrays mark the time that flies,
And every time I drain my mug, I can't believe my eyes.

CHORUS: She's looking better and better and better every beer.
Her hair is soft and shiny now. Her eyes are bright and clear.
There was a part of me too blind to see what beauty was so near,
But she's looking better every beer.

I know that beauty is just a thing of taste, and love still needs a lie,
And first impressions often last and sometimes never die,
And so I'm not so sure the cure ain't worse than the disease,
But where's a man to put his faith if not in what he sees?

CHORUS: And she's looking better and better and better every beer.
Her hair is soft and shiny now. Her eyes are bright and clear.
I don't believe I didn't notice that when I first came in here.
She's looking better every beer.

Yup, the "as written by John Shine" version is better. Great song!

Different song, similar title

LOOKIN' BETTER EVERY BEER
Stray Cats

I saved a place in my heart
For your warm sweet embrace
I saved a place by my side for you-ou-ou
And your farewell for the record
Sounded so sincere
And the girl on my left
Is lookin' better every beer

I've done my time, I've paid my dues
Just to see the skies are blue
And this heart is lonely just to be with you
And when we parted you just knew
I drowned in my own tears
And the girl on my left
Is lookin' better every beer

I've given up feelin sorry for myself
Got some pride left in me
that I'll find someone else
I've saved a place in my heart
for your warm sweet embrace
I've saved a place by my side
for you-ou-ou
And your farewell for the record
sounded so sincere
And the girl on my left
Is lookin better every beer
