Look North (local news programme)have just broadcast an item on Durham County Council's initiative to get youngsters interested in acoustic music-making by providing free Ukulele classes to schoolchildren as young as 9. The report contained delightful images of schoolchildren engrossed in(& very quickly mastering) the basic beginner's techniques. One thing that some 'Catters might not like about this is that the instruments were all Mahalos. Nevertheless I think it gives some hope for the future of acoustic music production. |

We are having a, "ukelele workshop day" on Saturday 3rd Febuary. Just organised a loan of a uke so I can get in at a reduced price! Might end up buying it to hang on the wall.
