BS: Dr. House Prempted by Bush!

I'm really pissed. I've been looking forward to my weekly fix of the good Dr. House, compassionate and brilliant phsyician on the Fox channel, and what do I find but Bush Blabbermouth.

Didn't we vote him out last election? Who the hell is sponsoring him?

And he's going to replace Middle East oil with Mid West corn oil? Give me a break!

I WANT DR. HOUSE!

I feel so much better...

Best to vent, it's not healthy to hold things in when you feel the need to express your feelings I always say Charlie...and your right it is a total waste of primetime airspace, they should have left the usual schedule in place and aired the "Blabbermouth" around 3am. Nobody is watching now and still wouldn't tune in at 3am anyway!!

Sorry...Charley, wrong spelling of your name.
It's the thought of you know who what caused it...*smile*

Did this doofus manage to not implicate Iraq, al-Qaeda and 9-11 even once? I swear every sentence that mentioned one of the three also mentioned the other two. Then more of this "and think how many attacks I've saved us from" and then he goes on to mention one of his lies about foiling some terrorist attempt or other like that whopper he tried to tell about that building in LA.

But he built this whole speech on "we had to invade Iraq because of 9-11" garbage. Then he's talking about reducing foreign oil dependence and getting use of gasoline after telling everyone we weren't that dependent on foreign oil. He also said Iraq wasn't about oil but apparently it plays a role.

Once he warns that we must not fail in Iraq. Allow me to correct you, dubby: YOU must not fail in Iraq. Where'd this "we" shit come from?

Dr. House - compassionate? You've been watching too many baby bush speeches, Charley. You're confused.

Scrubz Over Houze anytime. The sideplots in Houze are big time-wasting shaggy dog tales. First the ex-wife who's still the ex-wife, now the cop with the thermometer up his a**. Big lame loser.

Do love the actor. I'd like to see him get through one episode as Bertie Wooster, Plastic Surgeon. Or have him come in as Bertie Wooster, upper class twit with Brain Haemorrhage, to be treated by House. Now that's a subplot I'd tune in for!

Oh, yeah, it wasn't on tonight. It was pre-empted by the President who apparently has no experience with pre-emption.

I couldn't listen to the State Of The Union Address. I only want to
hear three things from the son-of-a-bitch at the White House:
"I'm sorry," "I apologize," and "I resign" - and we can't get one of the three, let alone two or more. Cheers.

However, on the way home from rehearsal, on the radio, I heard part of Webb's response--and that was actually impressive. Webb's background--and the fact that his son is now in Iraq--make him the perfect Democratic spokesman at this point---and he made a lot of sense.   Among other things, he noted that the ratio of salaries-- worker to CEO--has vastly changed in his lifetime--from about 1 to 20 50 years ago to 1 to 400 now (as I recall).

Webb was good. That change in ratios is chilling. We seem to have an 'upper crust' of folks who fly around from job to job, getting millions for high level management, millions when they lose their jobs regardless of performance. I can understand paying a good executive millions. I can't understand paying ANY executive hundreds of millions. Makes me think of the bumper sticker I saw in Left Bank Books in Seattle: "Eat the Rich!"

Charley, we had the same reaction in our house about no House. I took out my aggression by switching on the PS2 and pounding on monsters.

Thanks, Gang! It's nice to know there are at least 3 others in the whole wide world that share my odd tastes. But I do draw exception to Sinsull's cutting remark; Dr. House really has a heart of gold, cleverly (cleaverly?) masked by his appalling rudeness to associates and patients.

Bush, on the other face, has no such redeeming qualities.

And who wants to stand and wait for the very rich to "fix" what's wrong with this corporate welfare state?

Its all right for you lot! We dont have House MD on live at the moment. Have to get my fix from the series 2 boxset I got for my birthday :(

I've been really impressed by Laurie's growth in the role which is more than can say for the shrub...

I was pissed enough that I was forced to wait three weeks for a new episode. What the hell does Fox think it's doing with the show? There have been way too many gaps now, and people won't know when a new episode is going to be on. You wouldn't see that happening with "24," so why are they suddenly treating "House" like shit?

They want you to buy the DVD sets so yopu can make sense of the progression.

Another reason I like living in Canada. House wasn't preempted here last night. But it was a repeat anyway. (but one I hadn't seen so that was alright by me).

You know, I swear typos pop into my posts as soon as I hit the "Submit Message" button. I click on it and look up and as it is sending, my typo jumps out at me like a little brat giving me the finger as Daddy drives him away.

I missed the inimitable Laurie/House, too! I also liked Webb's rebuttal.

I keep saying - the Brits are taking back the colonies, one by one.

Previous experience of Hugh Laurie for me has been as a comedic sidekick in Blackadder and other goofy upper class types. I love the House character but was surprised at how real he made him.

Oh, and I also would rather have watched House on Tuesday.

Hugh Laurie was perfect as Bertie Wooster as well. What a great multi-character actor he is. Goes from being the butt of Blackadder's sarcasm to out-sarcasticking (ha! made up a stupid word) Blackadder in "House".

I'm surprised there isn't a series entitled "Young Bush" so those of us who don't see the light are better able to appreciate how he became the shrub he is. Some say he's a chip off the old block; others say he's just a splinter or some rotten bark.

Maybe Tom Cruise can be convinced to produce it.

Just imagine the revelation from the "burning bush" scene.

We used to love watching Fry and Laurie. They were such good foils for one another.

I didn't see the Golden Globes, but I read Laurie's acceptance speech and loved it:

"I am speechless. I'm literally without a speech. It seems odd to me that in the weeks leading up to this event, when people are falling over themselves to send you free shoes and free cufflinks and free colonic irrigations for two, nobody offers you a free acceptance speech. It just seems to me to be a gap in the market. I would love to be able to pull out a speech by Dolce & Gabbana."
