No matter how many wonderfully gifted gypsy-jazz players I hear, I'm continually blown away by the power and expression that Django injected into his playing. The ultimate, naturally gifted player.
(In my humble opinion)

I've got a 78 of The Quintet of The Hot Club of France playing Nuages, with Stephane Grapelli and Django weaving their own particular brand of magic. Lovely music!

Sorry for the mistake - Grappelli, not Grapelli.

Yes, he was a true genius on guitar, and an inspiration. Especially remarkable when you consider he had permanently damaged two fingers on his left hand in a fire.

Django led me to start listening closely to guitarists and collecting albums of his, Grappelli, Kottke, Fahey and others, and maybe ultimately to learning to play. What a great sound!
