Okay! Listen I will say this only once.

Jack Hudson is far and away the best interpreter of Americana this country has ever produced. He has devoted his entire life to getting it right - perfecting the gifts that God has heaped upon him.

For the voice is stunning - deep, resonant and expressive. the guitar accompaniments are of a standard that never distracts from the songs, but for every decent guitarist (and I'm no slouch at the old 6 string) - I guarantee you a few - how the hell did he do that moments.

Jack a has given his life as unreservedly to the music that fascinates him as say Martin Carthy has. Because of the idiotic predjudices held the two or three journalist who chronicled the folk revival - and two or three employees of BBC Radio2 charged with representing te folk movement - Jack has had none of the kudos, or festival bookings or media interest.

It sort of annoys me when I hear people weeping buckets over the years that Sleepy John Estes spent in the wildnerness - and yet here is a great artist in our land , who is being neglected.

If you can, get to this booking.
Jack Hudson is one of the best things to come out of the folk club movement, and The Vernon is easily the best club I have been to.

Brilliant welcoming residents (Gary and Tony) a great PA and monitoring(with a PA man, Keith, who doesn't wander off mid performance, a free buffet in the interval, usually £1 admission for singers and £2 for non singers.

I echo everything wld said.
Shame it's a tad far for a week-night, in view of the 6 am start the next day! But my heart will be right there!

We (Dave Wilson and I) sang Jack's praises (and a couple of his songs) on Friday at Faldingworth. Hope it spurs one or two of our audience to make the trek.

Have a good 'un and give Jack my best.

Apologies , that should read Gary (Stacey) and Terry (Wood). No mean songwriters and performers in the own right.
