In eighteen-sixty-four the germans went

I wonder if anybody remembers this song?   My mother said it was from her childhood and a bit rude as the last line was something about .... on their bums.    She didn't know at the time as to her it was just a playground rhyme, but eventually she married a Dane, and the song obviously refers to the Danish-German war in 1864.
Any help to be had ??

A version from my own childhood went:- "In 1944,the Germans were at war, they had no guns, they used their bums in 1944"
Suspect it is a variant of the same rhyme.

I perhaps should also say that this was sang to the tune of "Animal Fair"

In 1944
The Germans went to war
They lost their pants
In the middle of France
In 1944

Immortal lines that have in many ways guided my life, alongside the classic

Oh what fun
Oh what fun
Shooting peas
Up a Nanny goat's bum

and

Jemima Jones and me
We both sat up a tree
We had no shimmies
To cover our jimmies
Jemima Jones and me

Small wonder I have devoted my life to song writing.
