This programme is to do with the EFDSS 75th Anniversary and according to the Radio Times visits my home county of Lincolnshire (Brigg in particular) I won't be listening but I trust those of you who do will enjoy it. PS why aren't any of our LIncs. members in uit ? Maybe they are. |

Peta Webb (VWML Assistant Librarian) was excellent, both as an interviewee and singer, but alas no sign of the estimable Mr Schofield. And interesting revelations into Percy Grainger's faintly bizarre sex life. Liam Robinson and Brian Dawson were dead good too. |

Unless I'm mistaken Grainger started using the phonograph in 1907 - not 1906 as stated... the presenter got the name of the Society wrong, and other points wrong as well..... I'm obviously too much of an anorak! I shall persevere though..... |

He returned the next year, first, I think, for the Competition in May and then in July with an Edison Bell phonograph. I have read this had been bought by the Folk Song Society and was promptly 'borrowed' by Grainger from Lucy Broadwood. |
