04 Feb 07 - 12:59 PM (#1957536) Subject: Tech: Myspace 'Privacy' From: Richard Bridge Well, my daughter's current band just uploaded its first tracks onto Myspace Bassoloco So I had a listen and then thought I'd become a "friend" - and then I discovered I have to waive my Data Protection Act rights so that Myspace can store my personal data in the USA which doesn't have a Data Protection Act. "By checking the box you agree that MySpace.com is a U.S.-operated site, that your data will reside in the U.S. and be subject to U.S. law, and agree to the MySpace Terms of Service And Privacy Policy." Yeah right! |
