Copied from Jed Marum's TIGERS AND RIVER SONGBOOK:

Fighting Tigers of Ireland

Let me (D)tell you a tale of those (G)brave Irish (D)boys
Of the Sixth Luisi(A)an'
From New (D)Orleans to Richmond and (G)back a(G)gain
They fought and died for (A)all Dixie(D)land

Led by young Henry Strong who at (G)Sharpsburg (D)fell
He was proud and Irish (A)born
And then (D)bold Colonel Billy (G)Monag(D)han
Gave his life at (A)Shepards(D)town

Chorus:
They were (G)Irish born
They were (D)heroes all
And they fought for Luisi(A)an'
From New (D)Orleans to Richmond and (G)back a(D)gain
The fighting Tigers of (A)Ire(D)land

---------

Last bit: Key change to E:

They followed (E)Jackson and Early and (A)Master Lee
And the (E)fiercest in all the (B7)land
On this (E)old Marshall Robert and (A)Grant agreed
Were the (E)men of the (B7)Sixth Luisi(E)an'

Chorus:

They were (A)Irish born
They were (E)heroes all
And they fought for Luisi(B7)an'
From New (E)Orleans to Richmond and (A)back a(E)gain
The fighting Tigers of (B7)Ire(E)land

Sweet Ellen Joyce

There is (D)hope once a(G)gain
(D)Carried on the (G)wind
And our (D)land will be (G)freed (A)from despair
For there's brave men and (G)true
(D)Marching off in (G)blue
Into (D)battle their (G)song (A)fills the (D)air

Chorus:
And I'm (G)leaving in the (D)morning light
With those (G)Massachusetts (A)boys
Fare-the-(D)well my old Achushnet (G)River (D)home
Fare-the-well my (A)Sweet Ellen (D)Joyce

Bridge: Bm A Am G
Bm A C G

Hope I did that correctly, I've never typed up chords before :-)

Best wishes,

Bente

Thank you bfdk. I'm sure they used to be on Jed's site but I can't find 'em anymore

If you can't find them anymore that might be because Jed's trying to sell music books. I've got one on order now.

HEY JED, DID YOU GET MY CHECK????

Yep, I should have banged the drum a bit more for the booklet, but was in a bit of a hurry at the time.. It's an excellent buy, lots of lyrics and chords in it, and all for the price of just USD 10 :-)

Best wishes,

Bente

From whom? I have put in several inquiries at the publishing site mentioned before that lists his songbook and no one has responded.

Well, I e-mailed Jed personally and got a response directly from him saying to send a check to his home address made out to him and he'd send a copy of the book. I presume that's what everyone should do.

I have mailed out a couple of songbooks this week. Sorry you got no response Mmario - I'll look into it. Thanks for the interest in the lyrics.

SouthernCelt - are you in MS? If so, your book should be there this week.

I'm in Houston this weekend, working on a recording project. I'll bbe out of touch again 'til next week. Thanks again for the interest. I am thrilled to hear other folks singing my songs.
