In that case..I have an Antique Ocarina made in metal by Mathieu of Paris in c 1880 on Ebay (UK) at present with a few days to go...item number 280083368694 If anyone is truly interested. There seems to be a lot of interest in it as it has 15 watchers. I am now learning on an Austrian clay model from c 1900 which has a sweet sound. |

20 Feb 07 - 07:26 PM (#1974327) Subject: RE: Instruments for sale on Ebay. From: Jack Campin I have one of those Mathieu metal ocarinas (and another one on its way from an eBay auction). There is a problem with it, which I suspect may be systematic: the topmost notes simply aren't there. You can do quite a lot with just nine or ten, though. (With a spare to play with, I may try a bit of revoicing with a file). My ocarina page: http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/Music/Ocarina/ocarina.html |

From: Georgiansilver Incidentally...I thought the same as you about there being a problem...but it takes work to work it out...they do function correctly if the use of all the holes is appraised correctly......Hope that makes sense to you. |
