26 Mar 99 - 02:30 PM (#66150) Subject: How do they do that? Help for new Mudcatters From: Peter Fisher As a relative newcomer, there are a few things I can't figure out how to do. (1) When I post lyrics in response to a request, they are hard to read because the hard returns aren't all there and lines run together. Some people don't seem to have this problem. (2) I just read some great lyrics, but they were in about message number 103 out of 170 and I can't figure out any way to cut and paste them or print them out without printing out the whole bloody string. (3) How do you embed a hot web link in your message? (4) Once again, what are the puncutation marks we have to avoid, and is that only in thread titles or also in the message, and is there a conventional substitute for quote marks?

Help for new Mudcatters From: MMario in order to respond to # 2 - (in a more pertinant manner) would you mind saying what operating system you are using and what browser and what word processor? It makes a difference - to some extent.... MMario |

MMario: I am using Windows 95, Netscape, and have Word and Wordperct and Lotus WordPro available. Am I right that quotes, apostrophes, semicolons, and colons are all to be avoided? |

Help for new Mudcatters From: SeanM On the threads, you should be able to left-click and drag to highlight the information you want, and then right-click to copy. Then, you can paste into a document or whatever your heart desires. That's all I know... M |

I CAN highlight something apparently, but the little gnome that controls my computer seems to insist that I click and drag my mouse six or eight times with no results before it finally relents. |
