I was fortunate to see one of these acoustic sets, in 1981 I believe, at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans. We walked into the theater and there was a white grand piano at center stage. We went "What's this?" Was blown away when they came out and did the acoustic set, Phil Lesh's bass being the only electric instrument. They played for an hour, then took a break and returned to play a whole regulation 2-set electric show. We were in the place for almost six hours. Cheers, Michael |
