Finding yourself in the threads

The first mention of it I recall was when Joe Offer, after having been in Mudcat for a year, wrote about the vast number of messages he had posted in that year which he'd accessed by doing a by-name search of the threads. I've tried this before, with no luck--my threads refresh buttons end up on top of the Help the Mudcat button--I can enter my name or the name of a thread I want to find, but when I try to change the Age, I get Help the Mudcat. Any suggestions, Joe, Max, anyone? --seed

BSEED...use the FORUM SEARCH function
just to the right of RESET COOKIE
at the top/left of the MAIN page...
leave the BODY & SUBJECT blocks blank
enter [bseed] in the NAME block....
all BSEED posts will be shown..
be patient....takes awhile...

BSeed, If you can figure out how to change your age, let me know, hell folks have been seeking that miracle since the days of DeSoto, if not before! While we are having folks looking into problems, I have tried to change my profile at the personal page. I have typed in what I would like my profile to be, and submitted it, but when I go look in my wifes full length mirror in her sewing room I still see fat old me....nothing about the profile has changed...

Thanks, Gene. Worked like a charm. My problem is I avoid blocks of type at all costs. I have to get really lost before I ask for directions. --seed

And Banjer, I didn't miss your contribution--I read it, laughed about it, and went back to dreaming about waking up and finding myself in the thirteen-year-old body that's appropriate for my emotional level. --seed

hey guys. Here anything is possible no one can see you. I normally lie and get younger ( not here on the Cat though Honest).

a related problem:
when I'm away for a couple of days I just can't read all posts. But I wouldn't like to miss a post addressing me, e.g. with a question. So I could do a Forum search entering my name in the BODY section but I'll then get all those posts by myself (I always sign my posts), an awful lot.
So what I'd like to be able to get is this: a search which lists all posts with my name in the body except if they are from me. How do I get this result?

Wolfgang

*grin*...Wolfgang...I guess the solution would be to be someone else in the header! If you are "Wolfging" in one and "Wolfgang" in the other, then searches would be easy..

Bill, I actually thought of that, but people still would address me mostly not with the name in the header but with the name I sign with. The radical solution is not to sign. I won't do that.
