Wow ... some good concerts, there! I'm deffo up for Dan Beimborn and Kevin MacLeod and the Cran concert should be a blinder. Caught them a few years ago when they released the Lover's Ghost CD. Just been looking up Lewisham Irish Centre on the web and it's pretty accessible ... loads of buses go right past the door. Bones

Lewisham? Sarf East London? Irish Festival? IRISH Festival? You sure? Seems a bit rum to me. Can't imagine there's many Irish people in that neck of the woods. I wish you well, and all that, but how many people turn up to this sort of thing?

It's Lewisham council spending rate payers money. Shoot the lot, is what I say.

Shoot who, dare I ask? Given that this neck of the woods has been suffering its fair share of gun crime lately, your remark's even more crass than it might otherwise have been.

Well then you'd be very wrong. Lewisham Borough has an exceptionally well established Irish community. And the Council recognise their contribution and yes, they are very well catered for, as is their Afro Carribean community.

Applause where applause is due. This is one area where Lewisham council excel. Multi cultural and proud of it.

Anyone who is interested in attending any of the events should know that the Irish Centre is in Davenport Rd, which is actually closer to the two stations in Catford - Catford and Catford Bridge. Both a 15 minute walk from the Irish Centre.

Alternatively if it is easier for you to get to Lewisham mainline or DLR station, then six or seven buses at least stop outside Lewisham Station and drop you outside the Irish Centre ( about a ten minute bus ride.)

Slainte.

I don't suppose Lewisham council has any plans for an English festival, maybe next month around St George's Day?

(lights blue touch paper and buggers off!) :-)

Seriously, hope the Irish fest goes well - sounds good!

I see by the press that there was an English festival in Parsons Green last Saturday after the Chelsea v Spurs game, only 11 stabbings reported, a rather dull affair.

You're the bloke who caused a lot of trouble a few years ago. Destroyed our session at "The Anchor" Lewisham invited a load of prats down who were rude to the regular musicians ans only wanted to hear themselves. We remember. You're not even Irish!
