It's Pete's 70th Birthday this coming Wednesday - 14th March. He regularly plays in the Cobden Arms, Camden High Street, London NW1 on Wednesdays and this week the session will include his birthday celebrations.

The session is free. All welcome.

The pub is at the Mornington Crescent end of the High Street.

I think you'll find Pete's birhday was LAST Wedneday, the 7th.
My card is late . . . but then it always is. Oops.

He only told me about it on Friday so it's definitely THIS wednesday 14th March. Your card may be on time.

I used to know a Pete Stanley (friend) that lived in Sheldon, Birmingham around 1970. It couldn't be the same bloke could it ?

I think the Pete I know has always lived in London - but I could be wrong.

The one we're talking about here is the Banjo player who was probably most famous when playing with Whiz Jones.

Well I have known the occasional person wanting to Banjo him when he upset them. However I doubt if this is the Pete Stanley I know.

You will have the opportunity to verify which Pete Stanley is the subject of this post by watching UK TV on April 1st so I believe.

I don't know Pete, but somewhere have his LP, Banjo Bounce, with Roger Knowles on guitar.
I am in the process of transferring my old vinyl into digital, so I should be finding it soon for a listen.
Happy Birthday!
Quack!

Thanks, Roger. I found and processed Banjo Bounce yesterday, but might be interested anyway. I'll send a PM to Greycap, shall I?

Hi, Geoff,
Yep, send me a PM. Anything else you need that I may have, don't hesitate to ask. I spoke with Pete today and wished him 'Happy birthday' - it was actually 7 March, he was flattered that people knew, he doesn't appear to follow the internet.
Roger

Woohoo! I'm getting pedantry into every thread.
I did SAY it was the 7th.

Pete ain't got one of them new-fangled computery things, which is a damned nuisance.
Otherwise he'd have got an e-card like everybody else.
