I heard it on an Explorer or Folkways LP years ago, and heard it done as an instumental piece by Paul Winter. I conduct a community chorus in Flushing, Queens, NYC and like to include at least a couple of folk songs each concert. This piece was scored for women's chorus, and it was a harvest-time song and would be perfect for us to do. Thank you |

Being in the theater is more important than knowing what is going on in the movie. The sound in the theater is very loud. It builds up because it can't get out of the theater. The actors talk. We can still hear what they said a minute ago This happen in any closed room...sound never leaves it Until someone goes out to get some soda or popcorn. Some conversations escape as people leave And enter the lobby. When the movie is over And everyone leaves the theater The accumulated sound leaves with them And spreads out across the parking lot To become forever part of the landscape In no particular order. The film is a gift to the surrounding community. |
