KJ Punch The Horse Noel Thread (264* d) RE: Punch The Horse Noel Thread 20 Dec 03

Hi folks, as you can imagine, it's quite a busy time of year for us at the maternity unit. There's always a few women trying to get induced so they can get it all over & done with before xmas day, but not that many want to be in over the christmas period itself, apart from one!!
In our ward diary for 24th December is this entry:

Mary, induction of labour (maternal request!!!)
Has had little antenatal care:- concealed pregnancy
Bed booked DO NOT TURN AWAY as has been refused by Castle Hill Hospital, York Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary & Bethlehem.
Mary assures us that lighting is not a problem as she will be bringing a star with her.
Has own transport - Donkey
Permission given for out of hours visiting by three wise men and shepherds.(Please note that they have been asked to tether animals in smoking shelter)
Will grease midwives palms with expensive gifts, second hand but who cares.
Birth partner Joseph but ? paternity of child.
NO information to be given to Herod the King (child protection issues)
Inland revenue to be informed as has not yet paid taxes
Requests natural birth so order more straw on Pharmacy top up.
Episiotomy requested as ridged perineum - Donkey rider.
? psychiatric referal as claims to hear God, talks to angels and to be a Virgin!!
Declined water birth, worried about water parting.
