Thank you, InOBU, for pointing out a hole in my thinking about Irish song traditions. The travellers certainly add a richness to that tradition and I have ignored it. The singing of Margaret Barry comes to mind immediately.

How sad that so many of us feel so insecure that we feel we have to put others down in order to feel good about ourselves. Unfortunately, our culture seems to engender that type of thinking (or non-thinking).
