I find it amazing that not a single woman has mentioned either Nat "KIng" Cole or Johnny Mathis, both of whom used to leave a lot of girls stuck to their seats in my youth. Among female singers, I have to come down in the Julie London camp. I just wish I could shake the image of her falling-down drunk the one time I got to see her in person. I was a little surprised at Rick Fielding's mention in 1999 of Barbara Dane. I've got one of her albums that I don't think I ever played more than twice; I'll have to reassess it. cheers, david
