History begins the day you are born.That being the case, most of you must be much younger than I am.
   In basic training, in 1962, a Texas boy walked up to me and asked,
"You the guy from Ohio?" I said "Yes". Then he asked, "You belong to that Nigger Party?" I didn't know what he was talking about, and told him no one had invited me to any party. He gave me a discusted look, and said,"Dumb ass! Are you a Rebublican?" I answered, "I wasn't, but I guess I am now!"
   You see, In those days,in many parts of the south, a Klan membership came with registering as a Democrat.
